Table ExplanationThe table shows the result of using a series of arithmetical progressions using the number 36,000,000 miles, this being the accepted mean distance of Mercury from the Sun. The table then compares the Asteroid Belt and each planets (excluding Earth) accepted distance from the Sun with the calculated distance using 36,000,000 as a base unit.
